There will be a welcome and opening cermony and reception on May 14, with seminar sessions beginning on May 15. First-day courses include Fundamentals of GNSS by Christophe Macabiau, ENAC (Fundamentals of GNSS I) and Oliver Julien, ENAC (Fundamentals of GNSS II). For a full list of the courses and speakers visit MAY 30 GSA GNSS RAW MEASUREMENTS TASKFORCE WORKSHOP Prague, Czech Republic Following the publication of the White Paper Using GNSS Raw Measurements on Android Devices, the European GNSS Agency (GSA) and the Raw Measurements Taskforce will share their experiences around the use of raw measurements at a dedicated workshop — GNSS Raw Measurements: From research to commercial use — to be held at the GSA headquarters in Prague. There are several advantages to using GNSS raw measurements in smartphones and IoT devices. Use of these measurements can lead to increased GNSS performance, as they open the door to more advanced GNSS processing techniques that, until recently, have been restricted to more professional GNSS receivers. June JUNE 18-21 27TH ANNUAL WORKSHOP ON SYNCHRONIZATION AND TIMING SYSTEMS (WSTS) San Jose, California, USA The 27th Annual Workshop on Synchronization and Timing Systems (WSTS) is sponsored by NIST and ATIS. WSTS is a vendor-neutral technology workshop that addresses evolving sync requirements, as well as the roll-out of new sync systems and standards and their impact on industries and equipment manufacturers. The WSTS is managed by a Steering Committee composed of synchronization experts representing a cross section of users, manufacturers and professionals associated with synchronization in a variety of industries. The Committee sets the strategic priorities for the event and defines the main topics to be addressed each year. July JULY 9-12 JOINT NAVIGATION CONFERENCE (JNC) Long Beach, California, USA The Military Division of the Institute of Navigation will host the 2018 Joint Navigation Conference (JNC 2018) for the Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security. The theme of this year's conference will be: Positioning, Navigation and Timing Technologies: The Foundation for Military Ops and Homeland Security. JNC is the largest U.S. military Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) conference of the year with joint service and government participation. The event will focus on technical advances in PNT with emphasis on joint development, test and support of affordable PNT systems, logistics and integration. From an operational perspective the conference will focus on advances in battlefield applications of GPS; critical strengths and weaknesses of field navigation devices; warfighter PNT requirements and solutions; and navigation warfare. FOUO US only conference attendance (July 9-11) will be screened by the Joint Navigation Warfare Center and will be restricted to US only. The classified session will have US only Secret Clearance access (July 12). The exhibit hall (July 10-11) will be open to all conference participants, exhibiting organizations, their employees and related organizations. All materials displayed in the exhibit hall shall be publically releasable (Distribution A). JULY 9-12 ESA/JRC INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL ON GNSS Loipersdorf, Austria The ESA/JRC International Summer School on GNSS is hosted this year by Austria from July 16-27, 2018 in Loipersdorf, Austria. It is in cooperation with Stanford University in the United States, the Institut Supérieur de l'Aeronautique et de l'Espace ISAE-SUPAERO in Toulouse, France, Graz University of Technology in Austria and the University FAF Munich in Germany. The 10-day course will cover all aspects of satellite navigation, up to and including the creation of a satnav-based business. .
